We want to keep our customers informed about a situation affecting Cambium Networks, the manufacturer of Wi-Fi equipment used in many of our deployments.
What’s happened
Cambium Networks’ UK entity has entered administration, alongside a significant restructuring at the parent company. As part of this, we understand that Cambium’s cnMaestro Cloud platform — the cloud-based management service used to administer many Cambium Wi-Fi networks — may be discontinued on or around 1st October 2026.
What this means
If your Wi-Fi network is managed via cnMaestro Cloud, your access points should continue to operate and forward traffic as normal. However, once the cloud service is switched off, centralised management, configuration changes, firmware and security updates, and certain cloud-dependent features (such as guest Wi-Fi access) may no longer be available through that platform.
What we’re doing
Our technical team is actively testing alternative hosting and management options so that affected customers can migrate away from cnMaestro Cloud ahead of the platform being switched off. This is complex work, and because Cambium has not published a complete tool for exporting existing configurations, some elements may need to be rebuilt manually. We are working towards having solutions in place before 1st October on a best-endeavours basis, but — given the ongoing uncertainty around Cambium’s administration — we are not able to guarantee this deadline in every case.
If you’re affected
We are contacting all customers with Cambium equipment under management directly to discuss next steps specific to their site. If you believe your organisation may be affected and have not yet heard from us, or if you have any questions in the meantime, please contact our support team at support@orbex.co.uk.
We’ll continue to update this page as the situation develops.
