PBX

What is PBX ?

The users of the PBX phone system can communicate internally (within their company) and externally (with the outside world), using different communication channels like Voice over IP, ISDN or analog.

So, PBX or Private branch eXchange is telephone system within a company that switches calls between users on local lines, while enabling all users to share a certain number of external phone lines.

Or, even simpler – PBX is simply a term meaning business-grade phone system.

What types of PBX phone system do we have?

If you think that PBX is the best choice for your business phone system, you still have some decisions to make. We offer two different types of Private Branche exchange: Hosted / Cloud PBX and Hybrid / On-premises PBX.

Traditional PBX

Traditional PBX manages calls between phones and fax machines by being physically connected to them over copper wiring.

More about Traditional PBX

Hybrid / On-premise PBX

Hybrid / On-premise based IP PBX is a VoIP-based phone system that is housed within the office, also typically in a telecom closet.

Hosted / Cloud PBX

Hosted or even more modern, Cloud PBX service takes the phone system out of your telecom closet and puts it “in the cloud.”

On-premises PBX

On-premises PBX is a phone system/PBX that uses IP routing technology for phone calls. This system can incorporate voice over internet protocol (VoIP) software, which means that phone calls are transmitted over the internet as opposed to over a traditional phone line.

Cut costs and improve your service with a powerful on-premises phone system

  • Premise PBX has a lower cost in the long run.
  • Potential to reduce costs via SIP trunking.
  • Owning your own network and server systems and keeping them on-premise gives more control.
  • IP PBX ensures that phone calls will be available even if the internet is down.
  • More ability to determine the level of security that will meet your needs.
  • Your IT security team might prefer an on-premise PBX so they can apply their own solutions.

Hosted PBX is also know as cloud PBX is a cloud – based, virtual PBX phone system that delivers secure, reliable phone service for a business or organization right over your Internet connection using VoIP technology.

So, Cloud PBX  is accessible over a cloud-based IP network.
Cloud PBX systems offer a wide selection of valuable features and consistent service. It have become increasingly popular in recent years. However some businesses just don’t want to depend on internet strenght and speed and Cloud PBX is not the best solution for their needs, and in this case the best possible solution is Hybrid PBX.

Before you decide if Cloud PBX is a good solution for your business, it is super important to understand exactly what a cloud PBX system is, how it operates, what are its advantages and disadvantages… More on this you can find on the following link:
